Back in 2015, the Borderlands movie was announced to the public. However, it seems like progress on the movie has been forgotten. But apparently, the movie is still on the cards for been produced. According to  VG24/7, Borderlands 3 creative director Paul Sage said he was still “100 percent” up for the series’ cinematic debut.

The movie is been produced by Avi and Ari Arad. Avi Arad founded Marvel Studios and was CEO until 2006, and the pair have produced a multitude of action flicks. They are also producing triple-A games such as Metal Gear Solid and Uncharted movies.

There have been no hints of a cast yet however, Sage said VG24/7 “I think The Rock, Yeah, The Rock has to play Claptrap!”. Imagine Dwayne  ‘The Rock’ Johnson playing Claptrap! I think this would be a hard role to play for ‘The Rock’ as Claptrap is an annoying robot with a fairly high pitch voice.

The former voice actor for Claptrap David Eddings is no longer going to be voice acting Claptrap again. There was an apparent pay dispute that caused him to no longer continue as the legendary voice of Claptrap. Randy Pitchford called him “bitter and disgruntled” for his actions. Voice acting is a hard gig and deserves a fair price but it seems David Eddings wasn’t after a fair price in Randy Pitchford’s eyes.
