Nvidia have recommended that users should have at least an RTX 2060 to play Rockstar’s Red dead redemption 2 on PC. Since RDR2 released on PC today players have been using Nvidia’s benchmarkin tool and it looks like a 2060 is the minimum required to get 60fps at 1080p.
For 1920 x 1080 which is pretty standard resolution that a lot of people are going to be playing at it recommends that users should be rocking a RTX 2060 card in their sysetm. That’s not where the bad news ends however! If you want to crank them settings up past high you will have to have an RTX 2070. A 2070super is recommended for 1440p.
Just when you thought that it couldn’t get any worse, to play RDR2 at sweet 4K you will need a 2080 ti, you will however have to tone down the settings! That’s right even the 2080 ti is unable to play the game maxed out 60fps at 4K. That’s just how hard this game is to run. Nvidia has recommended that you upscale to 4K from a lower resolution to get around this issue.
Although this sounds absolutely absurd, you should take this news with a pinch of salt. That’s because these are the cards that Nvidia recommends to be hitting 60fps stable. Dips into the low 50’s and high 40’s are to be expected when using other cards but that doesn’t mean that you wont be able achieve 60fps whilst using older and lower cards in this game.
Here at Glitchtech we recommend that you keep an eye on the PC benchmarks and just go of what they say.
