RDR2 PC: Bug fixes and fps boost!

RDR2 was one of the most anticipated console releases of 2018. With stunning next gen graphics it was a truly jaw dropping experience for any previous fans of the series. When Rockstar let slip that the game would be making its way over the the PC in November of 2019 PC gamers where truly amazed. 

Well now that the game is available for the guys on PC what can we say about this launch? Well first of all it was a bug filled mess. Ranging from game breaking glitchs and horrible micro stutters all the way to Nvidia recommending that a RTX 260 would be the minimum recommended card for this game. Let’s just say that the game really had a rocky start!

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Online

Rockstar recently released a statement addressing the terrible frame rate issues and the fact that Nvidia gamers would have to fork out some serious cash just to enjoy this game at 60fps on medium settings. In their statement, they said that they believed the frame rate issues on Nvidia cards were due to unforeseen issues related to specific combinations of Nvidia graphics drivers, Nvidia GPU cards and certain CPUs.

Rockstar have stated that they’re currently working alongside Nvidia to tackle this problem and will be updating us all when they have worked out a solution. This is great news as many of us were disappointed to find out that an RTX 2060 would have been the minimum requirement to enjoy the game on basic medium settings.

In a sort of apologetic move, Rockstar has been issuing free Red dead online items to players a poncho, provisions, and ammo to Red Dead Redemption 2 players from this week until the holiday season.

It really hasn’t suprised us that a huge game such as Red Dead Redemption 2 has had a few issues at launch. It’s to be expected with a huge game like this especially when it was originally designed for console and has to be translated over to the keyboard and mouse. 

However Rockstar could have extended their own playtesting and discovered these critical bugs before the games release and maybe extended the release date instead they adopted the get it out the door as fast as possible attitude which unfortunately is all too common with huge publishers nowadays.
