Earlier this week, AMD launched the Ryzen 9 3950X and it rocketed from shelves as fast as you would expect a top-shelf AMD product to. However, there is a real issue with this amazing CPU and I’m not talking about the hefty price tag that comes along with this chip.
Yes, that’s right this chip has already sold out pretty much everywhere that it has launched. How does this chip stack up against the Ryzen 9 3900X?
If we take a look at the image above from the UserBenchmark website we can see that the 3950x has 16 cores and 32 threads in comparison to the 3900x’s 12 cores and 24 threads.
Another point is that the OC/ Overclock speed in the 3950x is much faster than what the 3900x is rocking.
A point to be noted however is that the 3900x has a slightly higher base clock speed coming in at 3.8 GHz compared to the 3950x 3.5GHz.
So back to the point of this amazing chip being out of stock. If we look towards purchasing the chip from overclockers, the limit is one CPU per chip and you are unable to expect a chip to arrive till January 31 2020.
This is just like the time that AMD’s RX Vega 56 and 64 GPU’s where limited to 1 GPU per person when purchasing from most place3s, most notably Amazon.
It’s looking just as bleak over on scan as well. We can expect to wait till the very end of December to order a chip over on Scan as well. This isn’t very good news.
What do you think about all of this? Have you picked up a CPU yet? Are you expecting one at a time listed other than the ones above? Let us know in the comment section below.
