In this article, we will be discussing the latest controversy in the Twitch world. Some streamers are planning a ‘SlutStream’ to combat online harassment and raise money for charity. Before checking out this blog be sure to check out our latest blogs if you haven’t already!
Kaceytron is a self-branded ‘titty streamer’ and she suggested the idea of a ‘SlutStream’ day to combat online harassment and raise money for charity. She has planned the day for the 30th of July.
She tweeted the following:
‘It would be really cool if all female streamers could arrange a day where we dress slutty and put #slutstream in our title, we can raise awareness about the sexism we face for being comfortable with our sexuality while also pissing off legions of incels’
The tweet got enough traction that Kaceytron partnered up with another streamer, Izzybear713, for a day of awareness and charity fundraising under the hashtag #SlutStreamDay.
The ‘SlutStream’ movement is mostly a twist on ‘Slutwalk’. The defintion of ‘Slutwalk’ is the following:
‘SlutWalk is a transnational movement calling for an end to rape culture, including victim blaming and slut shaming of sexual assault victims. Specifically, participants protest against explaining or excusing rape by referring to any aspect of a woman’s appearance.’
Lets just hope other streamers such as Djarii join the movement.
All jokes aside this is all for a good cause. Women who stream do get a really hard time from teenage boys and other Twitch users. These women trying to make a living are constantly having to deal with sexual harassment from hundreds or even thousands of people. Be sure to support the streamers on the 30th of July as it is for a good reason.
